DJ's  JOURNEY
Like the sands of time
and as a soldier marches
on...  We continue the
journey into...  The
Movie Zone!
January 10, 2005
2005 and the year is underway!  I'm sitting at the old kitchen table plunking out
this overdue entry.  The coffee is flowing and I'm trying to organize for tonight's
meeting.  We meet every week to go over everything that is in development,
production or distribution.  I feel great and ready to tackle the New Year.

Personal note:  I got "adjusted" for the 1st time in my life.  We are talking about
where they try to put your out of place bones back into place.  I've always led a
very active life with soccer, weight training, martial arts, and doing my own stunts.
I was afraid at first with good reason because I heard a sound come out of my
neck and lower back that I have never heard come from my body in my entire life.
Afterwards there was a very noticeable difference to everything.  I was told that I
had 4 things out of place in my neck and lower back... anyway, it feels GREAT!

I'm back playing league soccer indoors.  We are currently 1st in our division and
because it was our 1st indoor session we are playing in the B league but we are
definitely ready for A league.  We have won every game soundly and I've scored
every game with "hat tricks" the last two games.  NOTE: A "hat trick" is 3 goals.
So we should be ready to rock & roll once it gets warm enough again to play
outdoors.

BACK TO BIZ:  I finished the drama script "Long Trip Home" and now I'm being
paid to write on another action/adventure script.  I love the story and so it is a real
joy to write.  The firefighter film
"16 DAYS" is going to be dropped for me as I
have a collision of movies coming to a head.  I just got an offer to go play a small
role in
Ron Maxwell's (Gettysburg, Gods & Generals) new movie about the life of
George Washington.  http"//www.fatherofthiscountry.com/  I will play a noble and
have a few battle scenes as well.  I have to also go down and meet over contracts
with Historic Entertainment the co-production entity on our Lionheart Filmworks
2nd feature,
MONOCACY, NO RETREAT FROM DESTINY.
http://www.monocacymovie.com/  This will be in February so I'm just trying to
clear dates with my producer friends on
THE TASK and MIRACLE AT SAGE
CREEK
.

This weekend met with
Lynn Drzick and actor/producer buddy Stuart MacDonald
and his wife
after about 4 years.  I did a DVD commentary for the Special edition
release of
IN THE WOODS.  The movie has a few added bits and we got to have
discussions about the problems encountered while shooting.  It should be a very
insightful look inot the guts of low budget filmmaking for future filmmakers.  It
all starts with a good script and that is where ITW went off track.  But HEY it was
a 1st feature for Lynn and my 1st starring role.  The production value on the
movie is great looking back at it and the DVD will be full of fun extras.  Look for
that to come out this year with the re-release of
KINGHT CHILLS and world
release of
FROM VENUS.  They have sold UK and many other countries are also
in the process of being sold.  Fun stuff.

The week is full of metting on
WILD MICHIGAN, which is getting all kinds of
attention.  Should have
AND JUSTICE FOR ALL,
http://home.regent.edu/rogespe/AJFA/  by the end of the month and
JUDGES, is
looking and now sounding great and is gearing up for a premiere.  Should be a fun
and productive year.

I hope everyone's New Year is going smooth!

Best,

DJ

Hello out there in cyberland.  This stuff is all banging around in my head so I'll
just let it pour out like the coffee in my cup!  I hear that Pepper is going to be
getting a proper domain name for the fan site.  Sounds like we are starting to get
fancy now.  I'm getting ready to settle into a good writing session on the new
"secret script" I'm being paid to write on.  It is a cool adventure with a horror
twist, a completely unique concept.

Ole' Steve from Thundertoad will be stopping by with the new updated DVD on
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ.  We have had some early interest from a
distributor in Latin America and so the negotiations begin.  We will have some
exposure in a soon to be released book that is about all things OZ.  We have
struck a deal for the wonderfully talented
Dennis Therrian to do the music and
mixing of the film.  I can't wait to see the magical soul of OZ burst to life through
the music.

I'm having great meetings with our money people on a slate of upcoming pictures.
This group has financed many projects and after two long meetings I think we
can see a path that we all want to take.
WILD MICHIGAN is coming along in the
development packaging very strongly.  I think it has the best chance of a launch
this year of all the projects.  The investor trailer has really helped to solidify things.

Also the fact that the money flow has started on
WICKED SPRING has really
helped create movement.  Our investors are happy that they are now getting a
return on their capital investment and will continue to see revenue for many years
to come.
KNIGHT CHILLS and FROM VENUS will be the next into the flow.
KNIGHT CHILLS has already started but should pick up steam throughout the
year.  Our numbers for 1st Quarter last year were good and that was on the
NIGHT CHILLS box set alone not counting the 2nd-4th quarters or the numbers
on the
STATE OF SHOCK DVD set.  BUY THEM NOW!  Run to BEST BUY!

I'm curious to get some updates on what is happening with
MONEY SHOT which
Jeff and I optioned off late last year.  It would be nice to see that roll into
production.  Development was the major focus of 2004 and I think all that is
about to bloom.  I needed to find a couple of high power guys that knew their way
around the banking system, so it came to pass.

Still working to lock down dates on other acting projects.  I've read 3 scripts that
came my way this past week and I think a few of those may work out.  They were
all interesting stories.  I will know more on that front very soon.  Got new
headshots and I'm putting together a new acting reel.

Did a very good interview with Rogue Cinema and that will be out at the end of
the month online.  It will be linked on the interview page.  There is also a February
11th Premiere in Virginia for
AND JUSTICE FOR ALL wich is a beautiful little
piece.
JUDGES is almost done.  All is good!

January 30th, 2005
I won't write too much on this topic because I don't think that being in movies
gives anyone a better perspective then anyone else on politics and such.  It is kind
of amazing to watch people who have been "enslaved" for so many years get a
chance to have some control over their destiny, and are willing to die for that
opportunity.

I'm sipping some generic coffee and wishing I had something great like that
holiday coffee, I'll put it on this list.  Life is too short for bad coffee.  Actually it
isn't that bad and often you are paying for packaging.  I have another soccer
game tonight and so I'm looking forward to that.  It has been bitter ass cold here
and I guess even the South is getting a taste of it as well.  I talked to my buddy
Michael Valverde in Atlanta and he said it was a mess.  He is getting ready to do a
string of movies in Romania so who knows I might get in on one of those.

Another note of interest:  I had one day at the end of the week where I was up for
a good 20 some hours on 4.5 hours sleep.  I had just settled in when I got a call
that these film makers I know were working on some 3D CGI modeling of a
creature for a film that they wanted to talk with me about.  It was really cool and I
loved the concept of the story so if the script holds up I might add that to the list.

I've been reading MANY script and talking with directors over movie roles and I'll
see how that lands.  Some of my favorite scripts are less pay and some of the
weaker projects pay better.  The universe guides us as we try to make the choices
that are best for us.

All is going great and I've been really busy as I bounce between writing projects,
budgeting, packaging, meetings, etc..

Had a long talk with
Tyler Mane (Troy, "Sabertooth" in X-MEN) over a project
and found out he is working on a book and a foundation for fathers trying to get
custody of their children and such.  I hope it all goes well.  He had a struggle to
get his kids and I know one of my producers is also dealing with issues so I think
it is a well needed venture and I wish him all the luck.  He is a really talented
person and funny!  I really look forward to working with im in the future.

Adding a couple of Executive Producers onto CDI that will basically help finance
and negotiate deals with myself,
Danielson, and Dean West.  Once we can get a
firm hold on this financial stuff, and we are close, then things will be a lot
smoother.

Heard last week that
Brain Damage Films carrying IN THE WOODS, KNIGHT
CHILLS
and FROM VENUS will be also going into New Zealand so that will be
good for business.

I think we have decided upon our 1st (2) films on our slate, on is
WILD
MICHIGAN
that is really coming together nicely and then an animated feature.  It
would be CDI's 2nd in the wake of
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ and since it
will require a completely different task force they can both go at the same time.

Our 2nd round slate is firming up with movement on serveral fronts and all I can
say is I'm very excited.  Hard work pays off, period!

I'm told that the fan club has a new address and that is
www.djperryfanclub.com.
Pepper is such a sweet person.  I hope you all enjoy the site.  A few more pages
and leading ladies will be going up soon.

Well, I have a lot of work to do so I better get to it.  Take care and stay warm!

Best,

DJ

February 4th, 2005
I sit here listening to some peaceful music as sunlight... yes I said sunlight, streams
in my window.  I'm sipping some good coffee... thanks to some wonderful people
out there.  They read my last journal update and sent me coffee.
What a beautiful
thing! I thank you all so much as it was completely unexpected
.  I have a few good
updates but I will start with a few personal thoughts.

I had a good transformation the last few days on the way I look at things.  Filters
sit deep within our mind and alter the way we look at things.  I also had amazing
insights into people.  I experienced a range of feeling from severe disappointment
to renewed faith in some people.  Others still cannot see the light through the trees
as some have said.

I've had to fight the fact that some people are just not as loyal, honest or
trustworthy as I try to be.  To me it is the source of my strength.  It is what makes
investors trust that I will fight hard to see that their dollars get the best chance to
be recouped and profit.  It is the quality that people will get paid their wages save
the few situations where people tried to gouge the monies that were above and
beyond what was agreed upon.  I've seen a man do the right thing and a man do
the wrong thing.  I've made new friends and laughed with old friends.  Life without
filters of doom and gloom allow one to see the humor and wisdom of life.  Try to
take out your own filters and do right by the people around you.  That good will
come back to you many times over.

Let me see where to start:
KNIGHT CHILLS and FROM VENUS now have official
US street dates for home video.  That date is
June 14th, 2005, although it's listed
slightly earlier in
FANGORIA and a few other trades.  If you enjoy the horror
pictures, check out
http://www.braindamagefilms.com I think local film maker Jeff
Burton
has a few films on that label.  Friend and fellow producer Curt Hall
produced on one of Burton's films
DEAD END ROAD? with our own Dean West
and
Dave Borowicz playing roles, so look out for that as well.  Support your local
films!
IN THE WOODS, my first starring role in a feature, is getting a special
edition release but I haven't confirmed a street date as of yet.

My writing has been moving along wonderfully and I may have two other writing
projects lined up after my current script.  Let me see, the premiere for
JUSTICE
FOR ALL
is February 25th, 2005 in Virginia.  The JUDGES premiere looks like it
will be
March 18th or 19th in Virginia.  I showed some of the rough cut to some
filmmakers here in Lansing and they were really excited and may travel down for
the full premiere with me.  Networking for all!
MIRACLE AT SAGE CREEK is
financed and will start filming end of February 2005 and I have my dates.
Tony
Hornus
and I have been asked to film the "Making Of" stuff while we are down
there.  I did a good job working with Michael Anderson on the "
WICKED SPRING
Making Of
" and Tony helped a lot on the BEYOND ORDINARY that we did over
at
Dennis Therrian's.  It is having a release party February 18th, 2005 and will be
for sale in several of the chains and select stores
.  I will try to get more info soon.  I
think it is $14.95 and focuses on the real crime drama and how it was brought to
the screen with interviews by all including Pepper's favorite,
TERENCE KNOX.  If
people want to start to pre-order they can with Pepper.  I'm guessing there will be a
$3.00 S&H charge or something.  I will have info to her soon, I promise!

Still pushing deals on
FIGURE IN THE FOREST and HEAVEN'S NEIGHBORS
movies.  We have a few good ideas coming together.  Also still waiting on one last
offer for
AN ORDINARY KILLER and then we are going to sign her over with the
universe and audiences at the reigns.
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ is slated to
start having its wonderful score composed by
Dennis Therrian.  I'm excited to see
the SOUL of the music breathed into it.
Steve Young has done an impressive job
and I'm also excited by the idea that we might be doing another with a good
budget.

That about ends my little update.  I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sipping some coffee and my head hurts.  I went and helped at a fundraiser for
UNICEF to provide funds and relief to the Children caught in the Tsunami
storms.  Too much red wine for sure but it was fun.  Party like rockstars and then
recover for two days.  My friend
Joe "Big Cat" Murphy is going to the Grammy's
tonight with his
Klassy Cat ladies.  See www.klassycats.com I met Joe while
judging the Hawaiian Tropics contest and I may help him with a Costa Rica shoot
for FOX.  He has a "star" picture page:
http://www.klassycats.com/html/behind_the_scenes.html
And I was laughing because it is a toss up over who is more drunk in those
pictures.  Me? Or Tommy Lee, above me?  I told Joe,
Tommy Lee won because he
was posing with my friend
Stephanie and it was only Joe and I in our picture.
HEY!  We were making power deals!  No lack of hot women that night for sure.

I have my last soccer game tonight and so I'm looking forward to that.  Bouncing
a soccer ball off my nugget doesn't sound fun right this moment though.  I'll feel
better once I get a shower and get my day rolling.

We are about ready for our premiere next week of
BEYOND ORDINARY and
pre-sales are already coming in.  We have a few outlets including Sam Goodie and
maybe the local Hollywood Video chain.  It is a limited run and really showcases
the community and documents how a true life tragedy spanning 28 years was
brought to the big screen.  I will have some process set up shortly that will allow
you all to buy via the website here or at least have a link to where you can buy it.

I think we are going to sign over
AN ORDINARY KILLER here at weeks end.  We
keep pushing while we wait for the last few offers to report in but soon we need to
move on it.  I'm seeing listings from Fangoria Magazine and such for the
KNIGHT
CHILLS
and FROM VENUS release.  We will really turn towards some P.R. on
these two films.
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ is underway and so that is
great.
Dennis should have some wonderful music coming together on that.

Talked with director
Stephen Walker on JUDGES and we might be looking at an
April 1st Premiere because he wants good promotion build up.  Speaking of
Virginia... I got
JUSTICE FOR ALL and other then I think it needs a touch more
music, it is a cool piece.
Roger should be proud of his work.  A friend of
Pepper's,
Trisha will VIP out to the premiere and do a nice review and interview of
the cast and crew.

Still writing and reading on a few scripts.  I've found a few cool projects and we'll
see if the deals work out.  I've got some financiers heading to L.A. next week and
we'll see how that progresses.  I really want to shoot
WILD MICHIGAN this year.
I think we can make it happen.

Other then that I can't think of much else.  Just getting ready for Arizona.

'Til next time...

The Price of Fame...
You Attract the LAME...

This can be the title of tonights little log.  Just finished our weekly CEO meeting.
I have business people that work with me.  Investors, attorney's, agents(Ha),
accountants, distributors, etc...  It is really just a large production machine
making product to put out to market.  One of the more mainstream databases
sometimes used is IMDB.com.  Cool little site.  The PRO version gives good info
to use as a producer.  Box office stats, etc...

Since somewhere around 1998 we started having issues with our message boards
(porno links, etc...) and now the IMDB boards have it.  Someone was giving yet
unreleased films a series of 30 to 50 (1's) on a 1-10 rating system in an attempt to
snub a film.  Being someone who has work on a computer, I found it really
"strange" that someone would want to spend so much time trying to knock a few
low budget indie films that weren't even released as of yet.  Someone actually
spent the time to log in that many accounts.  Funny yes, pathetic yes, I know... but
it gets better.

I'm told that a
Steve Applin from Mason is one of these people leaving the
messages.  See... I hit the "ignore" on the IMDB buttons and just do whatever
work I need to do.  I've got people who offered to look into all this and have.
Doing based on true story state police movies have their advantages.  Matter of
fact, Steve better always wonder when he takes a meeting with a buyer or builder
that they might... just might... be rolling with the CDI Tribe.

See, I just get the info reported once a week at our meetings and boy is it a thrill
to have that on the agenda.  (Joking)  It is like a bad scene out of
JAY & SILENT
BOB
.  (Funny flick)  Anyway, a few of the investors really want to nail someone
for their actions.  I say whatever.  It is their money and so they can do whatever
they want to do.  They have been gathering info for sometime and only when
looked at all together as a single file is it scary.  You almost want to hire the guy
but give him a different direction.  He puts some real energy and enthusiasm into
his work.

I'm now told that it has gotten personal.  Hey, it only takes two to make it
personal.  He doesn't really effect my life other then 10 minutes at the end of our
Monday meetings.  Hey, that is more time then we give some people.  So he gets
10 minutes.  Hey, he did write a file folder worth of stuff.  I say, reviews of movies
that are out in the market are fair game.  Say you hated it?
TOO BAD... we got
your money.  Was it really that bad?  Could be!  Maybe so?
PROBABLY NOT.
Sounds like someone just has a beef.  Same with the whole gay accusations.  I was
told tonight that music producer,
Joe Murphy (nicknamed Hef Jr., they are close
friends)... was linkd on IMDB as a gay boyfriend by whomever.
NO SHIT!  I just
put that link up on the last update to help promote Joe's promo girls and his new
site.
www.klassycats.com They just got a huge suite for the Grammy Awards
Show.  Joe is good friends of many big bands (
KISS, AEROSMITH, MOTLEY
CREW)
and is working with me on some movie deals including sound tracks.  So I
told my COO, just contact Joe, let him know and let his lawyers deal with it if
they want to.  He has more cash than I do.  Report abuse on IMDB and then just
leave it.  Just a shitty deal for a great guy and maybe Karma will catch up with
Steve or whomever.  Maybe this Steve dude just changed screen names?  It is just
kind of weird but
Terence Knox told me on the set of AN ORDINARY KILLER
that when that stuff starts happening... you are
LEGIT as a movie star.  When
someone starts taking such an interest in your life over their own life.  Well isn't
that just
GREAT!...

Move over Pepper it looks like Steve Applin and a few others want to fight to be
Prez of the DJ Perry fan club.  Funny shit.

So for fun these answers are for Steve Applin and the
IMDB DJ Perry fanclub?
OR...
Anti-fanclub?  PS: All the message board activity increases my STAR
METER
rating on IMDB so keep the site buzzing!

QUESTIONS BY STEVE APPLIN AND THE IMDB ANTI-DJ PERRY -
FANCLUB

I would first like to thank Steve and the boys for their ANTI-SUPPORT.  I'm
honored to be such a big part of your lives.  Please feel free to tell me who wants
signed 8X10's and I'll have a few sent over.  These represent
questions/accusations/assumptions made by Steve and his boys.  Maybe it is just
Steve and 11 sign in names/ multiple personalities... either way... ENJOY!!!

DJ
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Age? I'm 34 NOT 35... at least until June 23rd :-)

Lives at home with daddy? I own my own place "Fort Perry" complete with crappy
garden.  I use to live in the family house.  Paid rent and kept an office there.  Still
have lots of files over there.  Before that I lived on the South side of Lansing until
I was 5.

Worst ever, crappy actor? Hmm... lots of actors out there... worst ever?  DAMN!
"OUTLAW PROPHET" is pretty crappy and I look really stupid in that film.  I
had a blast in Nashville though.  You bring your own booze into the strip club and
they bring it to your table... AWESOME!  I think I'm getting my stride and the
new acting stuff is really not too bad.  Lucky for me you don't have to be a
GREAT ACTOR to make it as a working actor.  I see proof of that every day but I
do promise to keep working on my craft and get less crappy.

A Wanna-Be Actor? Yes, I wanna be an actor.  Also I'm confused... either A) I'm a
crappy actor, which really is an actor according to A)  OR  B) I'm really in a
looney bin thinking I'm an actor, thinking that I'm typing to... OK that's really
FU$#%$ - UP!

Dick Junior?  What gives with that name? Good question, Steve.  While my
ex-girlfriends might argue with you over IT being anything junior I'll tell you the
real story behind that.  My father is
Richard Frank Perry and in the 1050's he
wanted to go by Dick Perry.  Go figure... it was the 1950's and "
Dick and Jane"
and "
Seeing Spot Run" was in.  So when I was about to be born... daddy wanted
to call me Dick Junior.  Now Mamma Perry gets to make the call.  She says NO,
and I'm born
Richard Jeffrey Perry.  They have their back and forth comments
and I get the nickname DJ, which catches on with the grandparents and so forth...
DJ stands for the Dick Junior that my father wanted but my mother said, NO!
They have to get the story right!

Gay? Anyone who knows me knows how funny that question really is.  I've always
LOVED women.  Sorry not even Bi so unless I get sent to prison... my chances of
a homo experience are next to none.  Like I said it might happen in prison but it
would be against my will for sure.  DAMN!  And all that B.S. for a carton of
smokes and some home-made hooch.  Shameless plug... Ah... yeah... like gay
people should rent our movies too... yeah... thanks.  They're kind of like "Will &
Grace" and kind of not.  Just rent or buy them.

I had to go turn off a few ignores on IMDB to try and get more questions but
they're all about the same thing.  Some are just cut and paste deals.  So... what
makes fans... anti-fans take these actions?  Spending their free time following a
guy like me?  Why not Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, even David Hasselhoff or that guy
from "Charles In Charge".  Why me?  Feel free to email any of your thoughts and
ideas and also feel free to go buzz up the message boards if you like.
www.imdb.com search DJ PERRY.  Make your own hypothesis and email it in to
Pepper.  We will do some prize for the best one.  Here are some top theory's from
people in our company.

Popular theory #1:
The Jealous Guy.  Some female from my past got married to a
guy.  She made a fuss over knowing the guy on the box covers at Blockbuster &
Hollywood Video and maybe they saw it and... KAPOW!  You got jealous hubby,
boyfriend, whatnot.  He spends his time at work or home...

DJ
:  I give this theory a strong possibility.  Still very wrong that someone spends
quality free time on my sites so that he can knock my stuff.  If this theory is true...
Hey dude, she and I were an item a long time ago...  Get past it.

Popular theory #2:
Obsessive Gay Fan. I guess it's like if you spin around three times
in the mirror by candlelight and say "CandyMan" over and over then maybe, just maybe
something will happen.  It seems like someone keeps putting the sexuality thing out there
looking for a glimmer of hope.  Their shrine of stolen "In The Woods" posters with
newspaper clippings and printed out photos stolen from Pepper's internet site surrounded
by candles.

DJ
:  The shrine part is scary and yes "In The Woods" posters were stolen from the
East Lansing Film Festival.  Oh SHIT!!!  I think that dark forces are using black
magic to try and turn me gay.  I also think that the Easter Bunny is who really
killed JFK from the grassy knoll.  Lastly, Elvis is so NOT dead!
Popular theory #3: The Failed Actor.  It is the big day and there is an audition.  The
people, the pages of lines, the... the... I can't remember my lines!  What day is it?
What's the year?
MELTDOWN!  Then, sorry dude, no role in this film.  we've had
numerous auditions and have had hundreds maybe thousands come through the casting
door.  Headshots, resumes, emails and such would easily put us in the thousands.
Maybe someone just didn't get the role they thought they were meant to have.  Enter the
GRUDGE.

DJ: I think this is about as likely as the Jealous Guy theory.  When some artist
have a meltdown they have a serious meltdown.  I suggest medication and stay
away from computers.  Take up gardening... you have to be better at it then I
am...  DAMN CARROTS!

So there are the three leading theory's.  Email Pepper with any new ideas and I'll
post the best theory's in an upcoming Journal Update.  Maybe we'll have a
contest.  I'll have to see what I can dig up.  Maybe a picture of David Carradine
and I on set of this upcoming movie in March.  Pepper that means you will have
to brainstorm because you don't just get the free picture.  Maybe... Well... this was
fun.  I was looking for something new to give the fans and with this info coming
up at tonight's meeting, I thought it would be fun.  Hey, we can have fun with it.
No worries man.  I'll make 4 - 5 new movies this year and you can hate those too.
Hey if Steve or whomever writes in with the best answer, then maybe he can win
the picture.

Have a great night and it was fun as usual!

DJ
Note from Pepper:  Move over as Prez of your fanclub???  I don't think so...  I
am here for the duration... so Steve or whoever you are... EAT YOUR HEART
OUT!  He can be the prez of the Anti DJ PERRY FANCLUB.  He has said some
pretty ugly, anti-DJ things and all the dude[dudette] has managed to accomplish is
to create a group of curious individuals who can't wait for the next movie or the
next Journal Update.  There are a few theorys that you didn't mention that are
even more popular here... but, I'll wait to see if any of them come into the office.
You can send the emails to:
pepper@djperryfanclub.com   This will be very
interesting to see what happens.  I like the idea of the photo of DJ and David...
but if Steve [or whoever you are] are real good... I might beg DJ & Joe to throw in
the one above as part of the GRAND PRIZE...  But ya gotta be real good.

I sit at "Fort Perry" sipping some good coffee thanks to my friend Kim.  I'm
thinking about what I have to get done befire I leave for Arizona.  The good news
on that front was that I got bumped to an even larger character in the film, a
cowboy named "Chance".  That means I will have scenes with
David Carradine
and even more of the cast.  I also have some horse riding scenes and get to do
some action stuff!

I'm really looking forward to the trip.
Tony Hornus is playing "Lansing" Yes,
like our town, the town shopkeeper.
Greg McNeil is going down as our camera
operator and
Raul Rios will be stopping in for an interview day.  He will be in
Arizona shooting with the bigger camera and wants to come by.  The added part
will add a week onto my trip but what the hell.  It will be warm and a new
adventure.  I am just putting the final touches on a new reel that is geared towards
action/drama with footage from "
AN ORDINARY KILLER", "JUSTICE FOR
ALL
" and "JUDGES" being the primary footage.  It gets harder and harder to
make the cuts.

I'm still reflecting on
THE POLAR EXPRESS in 3D from the other night.  What a
work of art!  I look for ward to the day when we can play with that kind of money.
Speaking of:  we have some of our financiers going to L.A. today to discuss two
of our movie projects with backers.  One is "
WILD MICHIGAN" and the other a
follow-up animation project to
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ.

Had some further interest in a few more acting projects and so those opportunities
are still going strong.  I'm eager to get a few of our own films "green lit" and into
production.  One project coming together nicely may have
Charlie Matthau (The
GRASS HARP, HER MINOR THING
) directing.  I will talk more about that film
when more pieces come together.

Tonight is the DVD release party for "
BEYOND ORDINARY" the documentary
about the real actual case and what it took to bring it to the big screen.  It is
$14.95 and for mail orders will most likely carry a $3.00 S&H fee.  I will have
something to Pepper by Monday night after our meeting about where people can
send a money order and get their copies.  We have several retailers on board such
as "
Sam Goodie" to sell the DVD.  It is a cool piece expecially if you were there
when it really happened, part of the filming or premiere experience.  Those that
just love CSI/DNA and all that kind of programming will also really enjoy the
DVD.

As for
AN ORDINARY KILLER, feature we have really narrowed our focus to
about 2 companies to take out the film.  We have taken our time but that is
because we want to do it just right.  We may come full circle back to one of our
intial distribution companies that we really liked.  It could tie into some
development/production work as well.

You should have
Alanna Thompson, the beautiful, talented female star of AN
ORDINARY KILLER
going up on "Leading Ladies" section here soon.

The Wrap Up: I've dragged my Summer clothes out of storage as well as my trusty
suitcases.  Always a thrill, (I hate packing) but when I think of where I'm going it
makes it all worth it.  I look forward to meeting new people and watching another
company produce.  As for tonight, I look forward to seeing the people of Owosso
and having a great 2 days of publicity.  I look quite different then my
clean-shaven detective character with my long cowboy hair and beard.  Well, I'll
report in after the weekend.  Hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend!

Best,

DJ

Quick update here.  Had my first day of shooting yesterday with Tim Abell and
Wes Studi, great guys to work with.  I've been a big fan of Wes Studi since
"
DANCES WITH WOLVES" and "LAST OF THE MOHICANS".  I've gotten to
know several of the actors really well and I look forward to working with them
more in the future.  I had to ride a horse hard yesterday for my scenes and that
went good.  I wanted to do a good job because of all the
REAL cowboys we have
working out here.  They said I made them proud.  I work with
David Carradine
next week and of course I'm looking forward to that.  The sun is wonderful and
with all the snow reports back home, I'm in no rush to return to Fort Perry just
yet.  Few other movie deals looming but we'll focus here for now.

More later,

I'm here in Arizona and I have a ticking clock here at the library.  The hotel
wireless and my laptop are not playing nice.

Tony Hornus will be back on the 10th and will send an ad for BEYOND
ORDINARY
and an address.  It is $14.95 plus $3.00 S&H.  All that info will be
forthcoming so sorry about the delay.

The sun is sooooooo nice here and the mountains and such are just beautiful.
Traveled some around Tombstone and surrounding area and that was
interesting.  We have been filming on the "Making Of" as they transformed the
town.  We are shooting at the same western town that they used in "
THE QUICK
& THE DEAD
" and several other features and TV series.  The people here are so
nice and supportive.  The actors are rolling into town because we start shooting
tomorrow.  Today we have horse riding/training with all the actors in costume.  I
have the full cowboy duds that's for sure.  We are in a small town called Benson.

I will try to give a few more updates via this computer unless I can get the other
laptop working correctly.  Great crew and so now we will see how they do under
presure.  Take care and I will talk with ya'll soon.

Coffee is brewed and I'm back online so I will give you a complete rundown.
What a great experience out in Arizona.  The rugged outdoors was just awesome
and I felt empowered as I walked where other Western greats had walked at
Mescal, Old Tuscan Studios.  The film was "MIRACLE AT SAGE CREEK".  It is a
family Christmas Western that much like "
WILD MICHIGAN" deals with
tolerance but more from the American Indian point of view.
Thadd Turner ("Wild
Michigan
" co-writer) wrote the screen play and his company is producing it.  I
play '
Chance' a cowboy working for Ike Franklin (David Carradine).  PS:
'
Chance' is based on Tommy Dipple, a REAL cowboy!  YOU ROCK TOMMY!
Go to
http://miracleatsagecreek.photosite.com/   to view some photos.

I was sore as shit after that first day of shooting when I was tearing across the
rough terrain on '
Bay' my trusty steed.  No problems with this horse like on other
shoots.  These horses were straight up movie horses that were use to the hustle and
bustle.  The entire cast was an inspiration to work with.
Wes Studi (Geronimo,
"
Last Of The Mohicans") was much like my buddy Terry Jernigan, who often
plays bad guys but is as friendly as they get.  I produced a small spot for Wes that
was an acceptance speech for an American Indian Award that he could not accept
in person.  He really showed how funny he can truly be.  See him in "
MYSTERY
MEN
" sometime!  Wes might be heading to Michigan for our little Western along
with a few others from the cast.

Irene Bedard, best known as the voice and image of Disney's 'Pocohontas' with
Mel Gibson is another wonderful person that I've admired for quite some time.
She is a pure joy to watch work.
Ron Howard's father, Rance, is a great talent
who has been acting for 57 years and that is a tribute to the craft.  He might also
be heading to Michigan with his son
Clint.  Buck Taylor, who is known as 'Turkey
Creek Johnson
' in "TOMBSTONE" has made a career of playing in Westerns and
is just a genuine man and an inspiration to watch work as well.
Michael Parks,
Francine York, Mark Rolston, Masum, Sarah, Fred... and the list goes on.  All
wonderful new friends that may one day soon strut their stuff for
CDI/Lionheart
projects.  The people of
Benson, Tombstone and Tuscan were so kind to us all as
we shot there.  They took great pride that we were again shooting a Western in
their fine state.  The project should be out end of year perhaps on TV via
Hallmark or any number of possible outlets.

Also met with our distributor at Brain Damage Films, Darrin and Angie.  Took
them to the set to show them around and have them meet some of the talent.  We
plan on building some major bridges in the horror genre.  They are doing the box
art for "KNIGHT CHILLS" re-release and "FROM VENUS" release in June.

We have a sales rep who watched "
FIGURE IN THE FOREST".  Bottom line... he
loved it.  He put a deal on the table and we think we might roll with him on
"
HEAVEN'S NEIGHBORS" as well.

"
AN ORDINARY KILLER" is building a buzz with the sale of "BEYOND
ORDINARY
" underway.  The powerful documentary looks at the real case and
what it took to bring the story to the big screen.  We are about ready to finally put
the pen to the deal on this film.

I'm working hard to put the rest of the year together.  I have agreements on two
other movies in front of me now and I'm just negotiating deal points.  I'm
finishing some writing and still packaging on a few of our own films.

A trailer for "
GPS" should be up any day now and "JUDGES" should be
completed.  "
JUSTICE FOR ALL" had a great premiere in Virginia and should
start playing festivals.  All is good and I will be better with updates now that I'm
back.  I promise :-)

Best to all!

Drinking coffee on a sunny day at Fort Perry.  Does it get any better then this?
Locked in our soccer sponsor for our outdoor men's league and so we are about
ready to rumble with all that.  Had myself several Captain & Coke's so
surprisingly I feel great!

Had a busy yet productive week.  I'm putting together our biz package for a few
interested groups of investors on
WILD MICHIGAN.  The cast is growing stronger
and I think we will finally launch this baby this Fall.  I finally got my new set of
story treatments done including one that has to go out to L.A. on Monday.  Script
writing on "Pepe & Roland" is also coming to an exciting close.

I can honestly say that things are really shaking and moving.  We have deals on
the table for several of the films.  I've got pending script and acting deals... I've
been up to my eyeballs in contracts and paperwork that built up when I was
playing Cowboy in Arizona.  I like being busy though.

JUDGES is done and we have an important screening on Thursday of this coming
week.
JUSTICE FOR ALL has been submitted to various festival.  GPS trailer is
in the final stages I hear.  They finish shooting on
MIRACLE AT SAGE CREEK
this week.  Sales on
BEYOND ORDINARY are doing well and we should have $
coming in end of the month here.  Music on
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ is
progressing and I've had some early distributor interest.

My thought are still hampered by ole Captain Morgan but this is a good little
ramble.  I have a few possible April/May acting projects that I'm dealing with.
Got a call from a company producing 3 features in N.C. and I might get involved
with those depending on my own CDI schedule.

More later,

DJ
