I am writing from a small town outside Ottawa called Cornwall where we have been filming the
TV pilot for "Off Track" a comedy that centers around stockcar racing. It has been a blast.
The 1st week is about over and things have really been smooth. The people are just wonderful
and the footage is looking really cool. The 1st day where we shot at the race track with about
7,000 people was awesome! I've gotten to visit a few of the sights such as an old historic
village. I've sampled a few of Canada's goods such as thier strong beer and french fries with
curds and gravy. I LOVE the Canadian TV series "Trailer Park Boys" and this is in that vein
some I'm excited.
I also got another offer to star in a thriller in August and so I may end up doing that. Trying
to keep everything moving forward. I'm tired so this will be short. More to come!

I'm in the office on a very hot day waiting for the crew to hook up the car rig for the camera.
I have been having a blast here in Cornwall, Canada. Went boating and out to eat at a dock
side diner yesterday. Might go see a Canadian rock concert TROOPER tonight after we shoot.
The footage is coming along and I really like working with this cast and crew. Looks like on
Monday I will have an offer on the table for another film. I'll also have some new updates on
IN THE WOODS, KNIGHT CHILLS and FROM VENUS, three horror films I have with Brain
Damage Films. They have been selling to other countries and so that is good to see them get
out there. Just a quick hello and I have to go get suited up. More updates to come!

This will not get sent out until later today once I land back in Michigan but I thought I would
jot down my thoughts before I went to bed. We finished shooting on the TV pilot for "Off
Track" today and it feels good. I love to bring something full circle. It is odd because the
people have embraced me with open arms here. I had only been around Canadian's a few
times, once in L.A. and once while shooting G.P.S.
I have to say that I have found them to be wonderfully sincere people with a great sense of
humor. They have a mid-west humble side very much like Michigan but they have this French
European flair tha runs through their speech, foods and culture.
I loved my time here in Cornwall and I will miss all the new friends I've made. Mark Owen
and his girlfriend Anne were wonderful hosts. My co-stars were all wonderfully talented. The
crew was awesome and polite as can be. If the pilot gets picked up then I will enjoy spending
some time with these people again. I know that I will be working with Mark Owen on
something no matter what happens with the pilot.
These wonderful folk LOVE their beer and food. I haven't really been drinking beer but I had
to sample the local brews. Between that and the back bacon, cheeses, ETC... I think I gained
five pounds. Once I get back to soccer and the weights that will be taken care of. I look
forward to seeing friends and family back home and sharing stories of the racetrack.
I have to try and get my schedule straight and try to wrap up the deal I have in the works.
WILD MICHIGAN and THE HARD RIDE are getting close. We are now looking at shooting
both in New Mexico and then a few weeks at Universal Studios in L.A. I have a few
conference calls this week so maybe that will help sort things out.
I'm playing a waiting game with JUDGES but I think we might start additional shopping. I
have companies asking to see it but I wanted to try and give the one major studio an
opportunity to make an offer.
I think we will make a final decission with AN ORDINARY KILLER by the end of August.
You have to stop shopping after a while and just roll with a company. G.P.S. is ready for
composing and THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ should be close to having a completed score
as well. NO RETREAT FROM DESTINY had a 4th of July showing and we are now tweaking
the film.
KNIGHT CHILLS will go sell through in January 06 and FROM VENUS will have its release to
the retail and rental markets. We have other deals pending in Germany, Japan and Australia.
They both sold Thailand and KNIGHT CHILLS also sold Italy. We are trying to make a new
master of KNIGHT CHILLS and I want to maybe do a reflective look back for a DVD extra.
It was the 1st CDI film and so the technology is already outdated and we really had much
higher expectations but going from the page to the screen, especially on the first go can be
difficult. My 1st starring film IN THE WOODS has sold Australia and it will be re-released in
a 2 DVD pack in January 06 I believe. I also have a TV syndication offer on FIGURE IN THE
FOREST, but I will wait to see what our sales rep has going on with that film first.
None of the early films are truly masterpieces but they do represent a large creative group of
people who made 4 films in about 5 years. This is about how long it took me to get through
college. (MSU) The nice part is we got the education and we now have 4 films that can slowly
repay their budgets. I guess it is the opposite of a student loan. The films themselves pay
back the cost of the education. We've produced a PG horror film, a Sci-Fi horror spoof, a
buddy drama, and a family film. Now with AN ORDINARY KILLER the real deal is underway.
We have learned some things from that experience as well and the next few steps will be even
bigger and much more exciting!
Lastly, I have to struggle with scheduling for the rest of the year. It is a problem that I openly
welcome. I can remember the early years of wishing I could get a movie and not the cheese
ball commercials. I do feel blessed and I'm glad I stayed the course over the years. The places
I've been, the people I've worked with have made this journey as an artist and a storyteller...

I'm back and it has been crazy. I'm told that Mercury the planet is in a retrograde and
therefore chaos is afoot. The chaos for me has been the amount of projects being thrown my
way. I'm having to really make some hard decisions. I recently had to pass on the lead in a
feature film that I really liked. Many reasons but basically it was a clash of projects. I'm
proud to announce that I'm starring and co-producing in an action/horror film entitled "The
8th Plague". It looks like it will be a real chiller and I play Mason. Let's just say that it had
an H.P.Lovecraft tone that I like. I also get to KICK BUTT so look for me to BRING IT!
Hint: There might be an AXE in my future.
I see that I have a new beauty up on the LEADING LADIES... Go see for yourselves.
JUDGES soundtrack is for sale at http://cdbaby.com/cd/joecausey It is cool. I bought... YES,
bought one at the JUDGES premiere. You have to support the composer. JUDGES is gearing
up to be shopped around Hollywood and we all feel good about it.
Distribution deals are starting to pop here and there and we'll have more updates on these
later. I have to say that WILD MICHIGAN is coming together and I should have some good
announcements about that soon.
I also have another gig that I'm really excited about. They are having some release about it to
MTV tomorrow I do believe. We are passing contracts back and forth and once those are
signed then I will tell all. I even have some artwork from it as well!
I was told that the "OFF TRACK" gang had emailed a few advance pics to me but they did not
get here. The CD-ROM should be on its way and I will send Pepper a few pics ASAP as she
has been eager to see some first looks of "The Wrecking Ball" in action!
That is it for now. I had to work on contracts all day and I had our CEO meeting tonight so
I'm going to wrap this up. More to come... stay tuned!

After recovering from my trip to Canada. (All the beer) I came home and have been a busy
bee. I have about a month of prep and then it is off again. I'm starting by going to Costa
Rica as the Executive Producer of a TV reality show with my good friend Joe Murphy. It is a
wonderul opportunity to go to an exotic new place and produce this show entitled the
SUPERMODEL SHOWDOWN. Joe and I met about a year ago at the Hawaiian Tropics
Michigan Finals in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We were both Judges and had great
conversations. Joe comes from a music background having worked with groups like
Aerosmith and KISS (A personal favorite)! So I finally got this call about putting this show in
play and what an awesome thing to be a part of. I could go on and on about it but they have
websites that will make it easier. (Who wants to be a tiger?)

I will have Pepper link it via our poster then click on
SUPPERMODEL SHOWDOWN, the candid photos are
also really cool to look through.
I'm currently talking with cameramen and getting that
all locked in. Also immediately after the Costa Rica
shoot that is 10 days long and intended for ON
DEMAND and PAY PER VIEW, I fly to Virginia to
Co-Star in "The 8th Plague" and action/horror film. I
will be announcing some of my other Co-Stars once
contracts get signed. We are cross-promoting these
two projects. The WINNER of the SUPERMODEL
SHOWDOWN will fly to Virginia for a featured part in
"The 8th Plague". I will be studying my lines in Costa
Rica baby! I hear you can focus better, okay, I'm
making that up... BUT it will be fun!
WILD MICHIGAN and THE HARD RIDE are coming
together for the Fall and it looks like we are leaning
towards New Mexico. Other sales deals are underway
and I hope to have more announcements over all of
that stuff. You can follow "The 8th Plague" by going
to: www.the8thplague.com
More updates soon!

The start of another busy week. Had a good weekend cleaning up Fort Perry and won our
soccer game against a tough team 7-2 so that was good. Soccer is such conditioning and also
brutal. Anyone who says that it isn't a rough sport should try playing in a real game. I was
exhausted until I took a shot in the face and I'll tell ya... that will really wake you up!
Today is a meeting with the 1st of 3 camera men I will be bringin on for the Costa Rica
SUPERMODEL SHOWDOWN. We sign contracts at lunch and also tickets are being bought
today. After that I have to go deal with the bank as they are still screwing up with a Canadian
check from OFF TRACK. Speaking of... there are a couple of pictures below from the shoot.
I can't wait to see the trailer and final product. It was a complete and total blast to film!
I have a promo poster for "The 8th
Plague". We are doing a cross-promotion.
The woman who wins our SUPERMODEL
SHOWDOWN will do a featured part on
"The 8th Plague".
I talked with GPS the Movie director, Eric Colley, over the weekend and that movie is moving
into music composing. I also think they are starting to add to their website. The FROM
VENUS movie trailer is up on the Brain Damage Films website. If you like low budget horror
CHEESE that this just might please. Due out domestically end of the year.
Working hard to put the final pieces of the puzzle in place for WILD MICHIGAN. I think I
will have a lot of distribution information soon. Working to wrap up paperwork on our
Lionheart Filmworks NO RETREAT and also launch a few projects over there.
More later my friends!

The crazy days leading up to the Costa Rica and "The 8th Plague" shoots:
Someone's word is directly connected to their actions. When words and actions are in synch
then honor and respect is created. When the actions don't match the words then disrespect
and dishonor gollow. I've had uphill battles where timelines were not always met or tasks were
much more difficult then anticipated but I've always tried to manage our projects with
compassion. I've always put forth a best effort. I just had an issue with a cameraman who
committed to the Costa Rica shoot and then backed out after a ticket was bought. It is too
bad because those artists start to get labeled as "flaky" and usually don't end up getting much
future work. It would have been the first time that I had worked with this person and it is all
very unfortunate he is very talented. The other camera person I've hired is someone I've
known a long time so I'm very happy about that. Still trying to line everything up with that
project but it is getting there. They added a few more of the girls (PLAYERS) at the
Supermodel Showdown site.
I've been working at helping cast on "The 8th Plague" and we are locking people down now.
A small hint is that it looks like my bud that played a character named "The Barber" might be
in this movie as well! I'm also in negotiations on "AN ORDINARY KILLER" and "JUDGES"
so might have some updates there soon. This is just a quick update and things are in motion.
"WILD MICHIGAN" is still chugging down the tracks. I had another offer to produce act on
two seperate movie projects. One film is with the guys from "The 8th Plague" and one from a
distributor friend of mine. I still would love to do a follow-up to "AN ORDINARY KILLER"
with Tony Hornus and that is looking more and more like a real possibility.
More soon I promise!

Note from the Webmaster: It has been a while since I have been online. I have been in the
middle of moving and without access to the internet for nearly two weeks. At the moment I do
have dial-up service so, I am at a snails pace for the time being. I will be posting any new
updates that DJ sends me as soon as my phone lines allow... Thank you all for your
persistence and patience...
Later...

Today is a beautiful cool day. It is a welcome relief from the humid heat of just a few weeks
ago. A fall preview is in the air and for those who do not know... I LOVE AUTUMN in
Michigan better then anywhere else. I do think that Canada would also be quite stunning but
all the fresh water and such mix for a wonderful display of color in the leaves of the trees. I'm
a flannel shirt and jeans guy and give me a warm fire and a cozy lady and I'm in heaven on
earth. Add some crock pot stew or chili and now we are really talking. It is the cusp of a full
moon and it hangs large in the sky. It makes you ponder all that has happened and all that is
in motion.
September will be a productive month. We have "JUSTICE FOR ALL" a short western I
starred in playing in a film festival in L.A. and also "Off Track" should be getting close to
being complete. A trailer for it MAY play in the Toronto Film Festival.
They are flying me to Virginia for the weekend to do a read through, walk through on
locations and wardrobe fittings for "The 8th Plague" film. I'm impressed by the professional
attitudes of these young film makers. I liked their 1st feature and the acting was the only hold
back on it. Hey! Our early films were NOT acting masterpieces themselves. They are now
shooting under SAG and so I think that weak point will be corrected.
We have locked both camera operators for Costa Rica and we are now tweaking the work
schedule and after a long conference call 2 nights ago I'm starting to get excited.
We have had additional sales underway on "KNIGHT CHILLS" and "FROM VENUS" and
both have a January, 2006 video release. Thus far I have been very happy with Darrin, Angie,
Brian and Michael and the Brain Damage Films crew. We are considering taking "The 8th
Plague" over to them to try and take them to the next level. I may even have a theatrical deal
brewing.
This takes us to "AN ORDIANRY KILLER" where we have an offer we like and we are
negotiating the deal points now.
"JUDGES" has also been in negotiations and I hope to bring you more updates here very
soon.
Our two dramas "FIGURE IN THE FOREST" and "HEAVEN'S NEIGHBORS" have been
under evaluation and I hope to have answers from our sales rep on these films.
Development has been underway and we are growing close on putting the final deal together
on "WILD MICHIGAN" and meetings next week should make things even more clear. I have
a few other acting offers floating around but I'm trying to see where "WILD MICHIGAN"
lands.
Best to all,
DJ
August 22nd, 2005
I'm watching medical staff trying to steal and eat hearts, chopping off hands and so on in the
movie "Zombie Holocaust". It is one of the films Franqui Guerro, the director of "The 8th
Plague" has me watching for actor research. Also on deck to watch is "Demons", "Evil
Dead", "Texas Chainsaw" etc...
This will be a scary little gore fest. They flew me out on Saturday morning and I went to a
board room where we did a read through with most of the cast. We walked through a few
scenes. We had a dress rehearsal that was quite interesting. Let us just say that some of the
actresses were very comfortable with their bodies and didn't need or use a changing room.
After we went back to the director's house with some of the gang and watched movies and
drank some wine. Good people and good fun.
We are at the one week count down before Costa Rica. Joe and I have been having some great
conversations over the show. I'm starting to pack today and working hard to wrap up some
business deals before I go.
It will be a busy week but if I stay focused I will get it all done.
Also just finished watching "Evil Dead" and that was a fun treat. They were just a couple of
other Michigan boys from ole MSU making their movies.
Another day tomorrow!

Thought I would give a final little update before I head off to Costa Rica and Virginia. I leave
for Detroit tonight then off to Florida Sunday and then Costa Rica Monday. Many deals are
still up in the air. We are still in the middle of negotiations on "AN ORDINARY KILLER" and
"JUDGES" but both are looking very promising.
If you are in the L.A. area then maybe you can catch the short western I did for Roger
Spendlove. "JUSTICE FOR ALL" is showing on Friday night, September 23rd at 10:00 p.m..
See his website for more exact location of the theater and so on.
You can see a recent "Supermodel Showdown" press release at:

The "NO RETREAT FROM DESTINY" trailer and FX shots can be seen at the new website.
http://www.lionheart-filmworks.com/
They are having a premiere for it in Virginia. The specifics can be seen on the website. I may
make it.
The trailer for "MIRACLE AT SAGE CREEK" the western I did in March 2005 can be seen at:
http://www.americanworldpictures.com/projects/miracleatsagecreek.htm
Also the action/thriller "GPS" trailer airs on September 1st, 2005 on:
http://www.gpsthemovie.com
I hear that they have a rough 40 minute cut of "OFF TRACK" but I haven't seen it yet.
Had a BIG meeting on "WILD MICHIGAN" and I think we got our backing. The paperwork
has to be shored up and ran through the New Mexico office. We are looking at a February
2006 shoot because we have to use a majority of New Mexico crew and they are all employed
throughout December 2005 on (3) other movie projects.
I have two other movies that I'm exploring now for the end of the year and we'll se if theyt pan
out.
This is Michigana Jones off to the Costa Rica!

September 12th, 2005
I'm sitting here in Virginia next to my amigo Terry Jernigan. I had my 2nd day of shooting
on "THE 8th PLAGUE" and I have so much to express.
I've just returned from the jungle. I mean honest to god Jurassic Park Rainforest jungle! I
was a co-writer and executive producer on this "Maxim style" DVD and also a reality show
entitled "Supermodel Showdown, Costa Rica". The trip was a once in a life time experience for
me in so many ways. I also have another little surprise... I directed both projects even though
I had not initially intended to do so. It was a wonderful challenge and it all went incredibly
well.
I met some new friends that I will keep for a lifetime. We really bonded in the primitive jungle
"Where Primal & Refined Beauty Meet!" It was a one day adjustment to NO cell phone, NO
computer. We stayed in outdoor huts, ate primitive foods and immersed ourselves in a
powerful place of nature. I woke every morning to the sounds of the monkeys. Their roars,
hoots and hollers became part of the show itself. The colorful birds, butterflies and insects are
everwhere. The waterfalls and giant trees that made you think that a T-REX could burst threw
the growth at any time.
I found a great new strength there with the gentle rains and the pounding strength of the
ocean. The beauty of it all is something that words cannot express and once I get an okay
from Big Cat Entertainment Group I will share some of these images with you all.
This quiet strength was like the recharging of "soul batteries" after many years of drain. I
have found myself at peace and my mindset more slowed. I'm ready for the challenges ahead
and I can look at negative individuals with compassion because all they need is some peace
and solace. The ladies were all brethtaking as well and when this show comes out I think
viewers will get a very unique slice of reality. The crews went through most of the same trials
and tribulations. Watch the www.bigcatentertainmentgroup.com and
www.supermodelshowdown.com site for new updates.
I'm back to fighting evil tomorrow but I do so with a bit of the jungle Zen in my character
MASON. We have a deal on the table for "AN ORDINARY KILLER" and the trailer for GPS
is up on www.gpsthemovie.com
Should have more updates on all the projects soon!
Take care and peace be with you!
DJ
