Lana  Wood
Born to Russian emigrant parents, Lana was raised in a show business
atmosphere her entire life. On the day she was born, her sister
Natalie was
already a child star at the early age of eight.

After working on many shows and several films as a child, Lana leaped into TV
via a show called "
The Long, Hot Summer". She played  Eula, the Lee Remick
role from the film.  The show was cancelled after one season, and Lana was
under contract to 20th Century Fox.  They immediately put her in a series called
"
Peyton Place" where she played a very similar sex pot!

Having been type cast as the sexy bad girl...Lana went on to appear in some three
hundred  shows, including a soap opera on CBS called "
Capitol".
Her most beloved character was that of
Plenty O'Toole, in the James Bond film,
DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.  She credits Playboy magazine, who "talked" her
into doing a celebrity layout for them, as being responsible for bringing her to the
attention of Cubby Broccoli.

After three decades of acting, she looked to changing her direction. She remained
in the business as a writer and producer for TV, including Mickey Spillane's Mike
Hammer "
MURDER ME, MURDER YOU".  and the ABC special event
miniseries, "
THE MYSTERY OF NATALIE WOOD"  among several others.  She
also held the position of Vice President of Development for TV at Universal and
Warner Bros. Studios.

Her book of poetry was published by Playboy Press, and her book on her life with
her beloved sister was on the New York Times bestseller list for eight weeks, and
rose to number three.

She has had many tragedies in her life, but never lost her positive outlook on life.
Currently grateful to be working again as an actress, she is also the grandmother
of three, and the foster parent for an animal group plus having her own "brood"
of ten dogs and eight cats.

Working on the
BOOK OF RUTH, was my favorite film experience to date!  An
absolutely incredible group of caring professional and kind people...led by the one
and only
DJ Perry!  He is not only completely gorgeous and talented (very, very)
but the consumate professional writer and producer.  I have NEVER been on a
set as wonderful as this one was, and it is because of DJ.  One of my most
favorite experiences to date.  Where else could I get to kiss a camel...Seriously,
DJ is a force that will continue to give moving, intense and thoughtful films to the
audiences.  I could always rely upon his steady demeanor and honesty to keep me
calm!  Not to mention those eyes!
